If you’re expecting a push notification from Morning Check-In and don’t receive one, it’s usually related to device settings, notification permissions, or profile permissions. Push notifications are not the same as the Morning Check-In report. Both require Morning Check-In to be turned on, but push notifications do not require an email address and are sent independently of the email report.
Confirm Your Role
Push notifications for Morning Check-In are only available to profiles with Caretaker and Resident Roles. These include:
- Caretaker Facilitator
- Family Caretaker
- Professional Caretaker
- Resident
If your Role does not include the word Caretaker or Resident, the Morning Check-In push notifications will not be sent to you even if the feature is enabled for the Residence.
When You Should Expect a Push Notification
You will only receive a push notification if:
- Morning Check-In is enabled
- No motion is detected or motion status is unknown
If motion is detected, no push notification is sent even though the email report is still delivered. This is intentional and meant to reduce unimportant notifications.
Push Notifications Are Disabled on the Device
Push notifications must be enabled in your device’s system settings for the Threshold app. If notifications are turned off at the device level, Morning Check-In cannot send push notifications. |
The Device Cannot Receive Notifications
Even with notifications enabled, your device must be able to receive them.
Push notifications will not arrive if:
- The device is in Airplane Mode
- The device does not have an active internet connection
- Notifications are silenced at the system level
This does not affect the Morning Check-In email report.
