Push notifications are optional alerts that can be sent to your device as part of Morning Check-In. These notifications are designed to highlight situations that may need attention without creating unnecessary alerts.
Push notifications are handled outside of the Threshold app and behave differently from the Morning Check-In email report. Push notification settings are located on the main settings of your device.
Who Can Receive Morning Check-In Push Notifications
Only profiles whose role includes the word Caretaker can receive Morning Check-In push notifications. These roles include:
- Caretaker Facilitator
- Family Caretaker
- Professional Caretaker
If your role does not include the word "Caretaker", Morning Check-In will not appear in the app and push notifications related to Morning Check-In will not be sent to you.
How Push Notifications Work with Morning Check-In
When push notifications are enabled for the Threshold app on your device:
- Push notifications are sent if no motion is detected or if motion status is unknown
- Push notifications are not sent when motion is detected to reduce overwhelming notifications
Think of Push notifications as information you will receive in a situation where the motion you would expect to see in the Morning Check-In report is outside of what you are used to. This means that even when Morning Check-In is active, you may not receive a push notification every day simply because motion was detected during the Morning Check-In window, which is what you would expect and can be viewed in the Morning Check-In report.
Push Notifications Are Managed Outside of the Threshold App
|
Push notification settings are not controlled inside the Threshold app, they are managed through your device’s system settings, where you can:
If push notifications are disabled at the device level the Threshold app cannot send them. |
Push Notifications vs Email Reports
Push notifications and email reports serve different purposes in Morning Check-In:
- Push notifications are alerts meant to draw attention when motion is missing or unknown
- Email reports provide the full Morning Check-In Motion Report
A valid email address is required to receive the email report, but push notifications do not require an email address.
