The Messages tab in the Threshold app stores system messages related to motion activity and the status of devices and Zone within a Residence.
There are two types of messages that can appear in the Messages tab: Morning Check-In and Device Offline/Online.
When there are messages that have not yet been reviewed, a red circular badge with a white number appears over the Messages tab icon. This number indicates how many messages are currently marked as Read.
To mark a message as reviewed, tap the message to open it, then tap the Reviewed button at the bottom of the screen.
Types of messages that may appear in the Messages tab:
Morning Check-In
Morning Check-In messages are created at the scheduled report time configured for the Residence. These messages summarize motion activity detected during the Morning Check-In window.
Morning Check-In messages are stored in the Messages tab for record-keeping. Because the Morning Check-In Report is also delivered by email, these messages appear in the Messages tab already marked as Reviewed.
Device Offline/Online
Device status messages are generated when a smart plug changes connection status.
If a plug loses connection, it must remain offline for 15 minutes before the system declares it offline and creates a message. When the plug reconnects, an Online message is generated shortly afterward.
Device status messages are delivered in the Unread state and remain that way until they are marked as Reviewed.
Keep in mind that each device that experiences a status change will cause the app to send a message, so if your three plugs in one Zone go offline you will receive three Messages to notify you of their status change.
